I bought two containers of Syntha-6 (Mochaccino and Chocolate) on the advice of a gym friend. (Previously, I had been using Optimum Nutrition's Whey Protein for years.) Some comparisons:
- Price: More expensive than ON's Whey, but better quality, to be honest.
- Taste: Both the Mochaccino and Chocolate are good, especially if mixed with milk. (Mixed with water, they both taste a little like YooHoo. But only a little.)
- Mixability: This is the only category where Syntha-6 suffers in comparison to ON's protein. I could mix the ON protein with water or milk in a glass with a spoon. Do that with Syntha-6 and you get clumps of protein and you end up chewing your drink. However, put it in a shaker bottle and shake the crap out of it for 30 seconds and you're fine.
- Overall: If you want a cheap protein, go elsewhere (like with the aforementioned ON), but Syntha-6 is a solid, high quality protein. (Personally, I recommend using both ON and Syntha-6. I've recently taken up the hobby of buying cookbooks which, it was believed, would help me eat properly and lose weight. I've spent a LOT of time and money researching ways to lose weight healthily and tastily. I'm not a big cook and most of the cookbooks I have bought recently left my mouth-watering but not satisfied.
Not so with this cookbook! The recipes are the simplest things I've ever made. I made the Not Really Fried Rice this last weekend, and it was so simple and tasty! Tonight, we are eating the Jerk Salmon. My favorite things to snack on to satisfy my sweet tooth are the graham-wiches. They are so tasty and so low in calories I don't have to worry about it! book4


I've never counted calories before so the first week was a little hard for me to get used to - that and being careful about what I eat. But now, I feel like a pro and have total confidence on what I put into my body! Plus, the recipes have really added some 'spice' to our otherwise boring and mundane meal-plan.

This is an excellent basic protien powder. It disolves easily and is almost tasteless. I add it to Instant Breakfast to add protien. I have added it to Crystal Light to get a very low cal protien boost. There is some texture change to the drink, but little taste change. Very easy to use.

This has been really helpful for maintaining protein levels after my surgery. It really mixes well with sweet or savory foods. The only issue is that you can't get it too hot; if you want to add it to soup, you've got to let it cool a bit first.

To be a successful dieter(meaning that the fat is burnt and not the muscle) you should reduce your calorie intake by 10-20% and increase your calorie consumption, and how do you do that? Well, you have to start exercising and do some weight-lifting.

Now you know how to lose weight fast (I guarantee that the menu above works) so stop looking for any more fast weight loss diets. You also know why a fast weight loss is only a temporary weight loss and most important, you know that there are no shortcuts to get rid of those extra pounds. It is really a really easy equation: (Calorie intake) – (Calorie burnt) = weight loss/gain. Simple? Yes! But it is not that easy to achieve because it requires some fundamental change of attitude towards foods, exercise and body.
